The US Commercial Finance Manager will work shoulder-to-shoulder with stakeholders to drive and impact business performance. The US Commercial Finance Manager - Wholesale will be a leader on the Market Commercial Finance team and is expected to be a strategic advisor for the VP, Wholesale Sales and take strong personal ownership of achieving required business outcomes and driving best practices. This role will take responsibility in coordinating and ensuring that there is transparency towards the US and NAM leadership, and share knowledge and best practices, to roll-out and drive commercial excellence. This role works with Cluster and Global Commercial Finance to bring best practice to the market drawing on global insight and data.

Essential Functions:

The US Commerical Finance Manager role requires a combination of strong business acumen, commercial finance, and partnering and communication skills, and the ability to guide strategic projects within the market, e.g., new category/channel/product creation and launch. The strong combination of business acumen is what drives increased business performance in the market, being the preferred business partner for the local management teams.

In addition, they are also required to be ‘forward looking’, focusing on identification of opportunities to drive improvements in top and bottom line and other key outcomes (e.g. work capital, cash, and cost reduction). Teams will use the data/analytics/tools which will be available to them (along with influencing relationship development and storytelling skills) to drive material performance improvement, in collaboration with US leadership teams

The US Commerical Finance Manager will be accountable for:

  • Improved business performance within the Market with tangible results driven by Finance. This includes, but is not limited to increased Sell-In and Sell-Out, higher Gross Profit & EBIT, and improved inventory levels.
  • Improved business performance within the Market with tangible results driven by Finance. This includes, but is not limited to increased Sell-In and Sell-Out, higher Gross Profit & EBIT, and improved inventory levels.
  • Building strong relationships with Business Partners, and having embedded themselves within crucial business processes.
  • Delivered (Finance) Transformation program deliverables in the cluster and markets
  • Process improvements to drive efficiencies in areas such as Month-End Close, Forecast updates, Target Setting and ongoing reporting.
  • New reporting/processes around Customer Profitability and Long Range Planning

Driving Decisions

  • Provide financial and commercial support to drive performance and influence delivery of the commercial result
  • Provide actionable insight to key forums based on risk, opportunity and sensitivity
  • Support Market Finance teams with performance improvement interventions
  • Set financial and operational KPIs/drivers
  • Approve business cases

Projects and Continuous Improvement

  • Be part of the core teams of strategic projects within Cluster/Market (e.g. investments, new category/channel/product creation and launch), hereunder provide analysis

US Commercial Finance team is accountable for:

  • Delivering the commercial results of the US (P&L and Balance Sheet) and also acting as the ‘engine room’ of Business Performance management, owning the Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting processes within the framework set by the Group

Something About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required
  • MBA desired but not required
  • 5-8 years of experience from similar role(s) and responsibility in a global and international organisation
  • Experience from retail, fashion or FMCG industry
  • Fluent in English – verbally and written
  • High energy and willingness to drive a global agenda
  • Understand strategic development and business priorities
  • Stakeholder management, business partnering and influencing
  • Strong and effective communication – verbally and written
  • Willing to travel regularly and an international mindset
  • “One Global Team” oriented
