Water
From cleaning to casting, water is essential to crafting our jewellery, with nearly 90% of our total use occurring at our crafting sites. Operating in water-stressed regions means we are responsible for protecting this finite resource and building resilience against risks, particularly in the face of climate change.
A SCIENCE-BASED APPROACH TO WATER STEWARDSHIP
Some of our crafting sites are in water-stressed areas, exposing us to risks related to water scarcity and quality. A recently conducted science-based analysis shows freshwater basins serving our Bangkok and Lamphun sites are under pressure.
We are looking to set science-based water targets, grounded in local basin conditions, to safeguard nature and ensure the long-term sustainability of our operations.
We have applied WWF's Water Risk Filter to conduct a company-wide water risk assessment. Our assessment shows we need to improve water efficiency to protect resources and build long-term business resilience, and we plan to take action on this by setting targets in the coming year.
Collaborative efforts are key in the next phase
We recognise how important water is for ecosystems, biodiversity and communities. That's why we are looking at ways to work together with other strategic partners to create positive impacts that go beyond our own operations.
